THREE people have been taken to hospital following a head-on collision in Leek.
The two vehicles ended up 90 metres apart after the smash outside the Green Man Inn, in Ashbourne Road, on Sunday night.
Fire crews from Leek and Ipstones attended the incident and found one vehicle on its roof in a ditch, with its two occupants having already been helped out by a passer-by.
A male in the other car had become trapped with his feet on the pedals and was rescued.
All three were treated at the scene with oxygen, all having suffered minor head injuries, before being taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire.
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue spokesman said: “Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service would urge motorists to take extra care and watch their speed behind the wheel when they are travelling on fast roads, especially at night and in poor weather conditions.”
