Thanks from us all

MAY, Lisa and Bill would like to express their sincere thanks for all the help and support given to them at this year’s Werrington Well Dressing and Ye Olde Summer Fayre.

The whole event was put together in five weeks by the three of us and on the day we had help from the 239 Squadron Longton Air Cadets, Werrington AFC, Werrington Scouts, the young people of the village, local residents, and family and friends, to make the day a tremendous success.

The well dressing could not take place without the kind permission of Sandra Smith for the use of the field, and also Geoff Bowker, Mrs D Drakeford and Mrs P Worrall.

Also, may we thank John and Alan of Longden Nurseries for their floral display that dressed the well, and other local nurseries, Werrington Co-op for supporting the tuck stall, and all businesses that donated raffle prizes.

Our theme for this year was Help for Heroes, and we were fortunate enough to have RAF Pilot Officer Sarah Johnson to open the event.

Sarah, 20, is a local girl waiting for her first overseas posting.

The Air Cadets were very keen to talk to Sarah. We hope that she and her family enjoyed the day. We will be following Sarah’s progress.

This year there were more attractions including, a climbing wall, cross bows, owls, tuck shop, and make your own hanging basket. All stallholders had a bumper day.

We hope all visitors had an enjoyable day.

MAY DAY, LISA MARTIN and BILL DAY
