THE heavy overnight rain caused problems with the league's fixtures on Sunday, with only four of the scheduled matches being played.

A match which did go ahead turned the Division One table on its head and a major upset in the JW Howson Cup when lowly AC Bird in Hand beat leaders Vale Hoppers 3-2 at Birchall.
Wayne Stevenson gave Bird in Hand the lead after 14 minutes with a penalty, but normal seervice appeared to have resumed when Martin Bailey equalised on 25 minutes, and an own goal put Hoppers in front eight minutes later.
However, two minutes from the interval, Adam Carr levelled the scores for Bird in Hand, and three minutes into the second half, Dominic Dawes put them in front.
Despite Hoppers’ best efforts, Bird in Hand stood firm, and go forward to the quarter finals.
Also surviving the conditions at Birchall was the Premier Division game between Powys Arms and Abbey Inn, with Abbey running out comfortable 4-2 winners after being four up at half time.
John Millington put them in front after 25 minutes, then scored three goals in three minutes, starting with Mark Fox on 34, and then Millington’s second, and a final strike from Paul Hammersley.
Powys came more into the picture in the second half, and Jamie Nixon pulled a goal back after 56 minutes.
But they made little further headway until three minutes from time when Matt Churchill scored a second.
Wetton’s recovery from a poor start continued when they beat local rivals Horseshoe Inn 2-0 at Waterhouses.
Adam Hudson scored on the half hour for the lead, and Lee Ward added the second on 70 minutes.
Durham Ox beat Wellington 2-1 at Back Lane Congleton to lift themselves another place up the table with their second win of the season.
An own goal after 15 minutes gave them the lead, and Mark Hope added the second on 35 minutes.
Chris Statham scored for Wellington on the hour, but the hosts held on to what they had got.
