BLUE mugge marched into the third round of the Staffordshire FA Sunday Premier Cup on Sunday morning when they thrashed a Coach & Horses team, who were clearly out of their depth, 14-1 at Westwood.

Ollie Edwards gave them the lead after only three minutes, but the visitors did manage to cancel this in four minutes with a goal from Carl Francis. But that was the last heard of them as Martin Baker hit a first half hattrick, Matt Haddrell and Sam Hall scored, and Darren Baker got the first of his three goals for a seven goal first half haul.

Abbey Inn’s Staffordshire FA Sunday Challenge Cup match away to Dresden Park Rangers at Fenton Park had to be called off when a number of pitches were ruined on Thursday night by firework display spectators.

Sean Greeves gave them the lead midway through the first half, and Matt McBride added a second just before the break.

The lead lasted only three minutes though, when Dave Turner again leveled, but Mallen scored the winner from the spot with five minutes remaining.

There was an amazing match nearby where AFC Valiant were beaten by Waterhouses 8-4 in a JW Howson Cup tie.

Paul Widdowson and Richard Weaver gave Waterhouses a twogoal lead after nine minutes, but Craig Webster and Mike Birchall heaved Valiant level in the next half hour, only for Weaver to restore Waterhouses’ lead inside a minute.

Carr hit his second on the hour to extend the lead, but scored with a penalty to reduce the arrears inside two minutes.
